1. Tools You May Need

Tools You May Need

Pencil, tape measure, electric drill, screwdriver, level, and step stool.

Note: For drywall (wallboard) or plaster, use hollow-wall anchors (not included); for concrete, stone, or brick, use masonry drill bits and anchors (not included).

2. Measurement

Measurement Measurement

Measuring the Width and the Length for Outside Mount:
Measure the area that the shades are to cover. For the shades, it is recommended to overlap the window opening by at least 1 1/2” on each side for a total of 3”. To allow for enough space for the mounting brackets and to cover the bottom of the window, the suggested overlap for the shades varies depending on the size of the shades and the valance option that is selected. If the window opening has a sill, measure from where the top of the shades will be located to the top of the windowsill.

Confirming Measurements:
The most common error in ordering shades is reversing the width and the length measurements. Always confirm that the width is the measurement that goes across from left to right and that the length is the measurement that goes from top to bottom. List the width measurement first (W x L).

3. Secure the Bracket

Secure the Bracket

Mark drilling positions for the bracket. Use an electric drill to securely fasten the bracket and prevent the shades from falling. The shades is punched inside or outside as shown.

4. Install the Shades

Install the Shades

Lift the shades, first insert the side with the safety device, then press the end protrusion inward until it snaps into the bracket’s round hole.

5. Install Chain Tensioner

Install Chain Tensioner

Straighten the bead chain, mark the location of the Chain Tensioner punch, and using a drill, be sure to tighten the chain to prevent it from wrapping around the neck and strangling the child. The chain is punched inside or outside as shown in the diagram.

8. Roller shades Care and Cleaning

For the care and cleaning of your roller shades, we recommend using gentle cleaning methods. Roller shades are decorative and are primarily polyester fibers, or blends of polyester-cotton, polyester-linen, or polyvinyl chloride materials. The fabrics in this range should not be treated with harsh chemical substances to treat. If wrinkled, they can be ironed using light steam. Be sure to avoid contact with the fabric and keep the steamer and fabric at least 6” away. If stains need to be cleaned, use only water or a very mild detergent. Thoroughly washing the fabric can cause it to shrink, leave water stains, or change its color of the fabric. Following these suggestions will help extend the life of your roller shades and ensure they remain beautiful for years to come!
